Gareth Evans

Amongst his career highs, he lists;

  • Making mid mornings consistently the most listened to day-part on East Midlands station Heart 106
  • Handing the next presenter on Century Digital ( London ) a 550% bigger figure than inherited at the start of his show.
  • Presenting the Mid-Morning show very successfully for BBC Radio Sheffield.
  • And convincing enough women that they should send him a bra and a pound, the money was for Breast Cancer charities, the bras he hooked together and draped from bank to bank across one the UK’s biggest river bridges. (“We had enough bras to make the crossing four times.")

Gareth presented various stations’ breakfast shows in markets around the UK, most successfully Suffolk’s SGRfm where the show was dominant in the market.

He cut his broadcasting teeth helping create RSLs that evolved into successful full time stations in several northern towns and on the GWR overnight network across the midlands and south.

And before that Gareth’s first success was as a regional winner of the BBC “A Sound Experience” radio documentary making contest in 1987.

Gareth is married and has four young children, all boys, and enjoys the free prep service that they provide.

Gareth is a warm personality presenter whose strength is building relationships with his listener.  “Some presenters still talk at their listener, others talk to them … I’ve developed a style of talking with her or him,” he says.
