Anna Woolhouse

Anna's journey into radio began in her final year at university when she secured a work placement at BBC Radio Cambridge. It was through this placement that she realised this is what she really wanted to do. After many months of working for ‘love’ Anna attained a 6 month contract working on the breakfast show at Radio Cambridgeshire, also during this period she applied and gained a place to study bi-media journalism. Since then she has worked at BBC Radio Leeds then later as part of Toby Foster’s Breakfast Show on BBC Radio Sheffield and briefly co-hosting Mark Keen's breakfast show on Preston's 106.5 Central Radio.

Anna is currently freelancing across the country working both with the BBC and independent production companies.

Born in Market Deeping 1984, Anna attended Stamford High School until the age of 18.

She has studied ballet, tap ,modern, acrobatics and national dance from the age of 3 to the present day, passing exams to a professional level.


Not only accomplished on the dance floor but also the violin and piano which she studied from the age of 4, then commenced learning the viola and saxophone from 14 years of age, achieving grade 8 in violin, viola, piano and singing.

Her singing lessons began at the same age and she attended the Guildhall School of Music as a Junior Exhibitioner from the age of 16.

Anna has danced, played and sang in many festival competitions both locally and nationally with much success.

She attended Leeds University from 2002 and after studying gained a BA Hons in music.

Whilst at school she performed the role of Sandy in a production of ‘Grease’ and played the role of ‘Cha Cha’ in the Leeds University production. During her second year of university she also choreographed the musical ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’.She has sung many solos for local choral societies since she was at school to the present day.

From Jan 2006 – Dec 2006 Anna studied and gained a Post graduate diploma in Bi-media Broadcast journalism at Trinity and All Saints College Leeds.
